6820NZ wireless Vantage Pro 2 GroWeather ISS – measures wind speed and wind direction, rainfall, temperature and humidity plus solar radiation

  • Tried and tested, the Vantage Pro 2 (VP2) integrated sensor suite (ISS) has been in production for almost 20 years
  • The anemometer has a 12m cable so it can be mounted separately to the main sensor suite
  • There are a wide range of parts available and we keep them in stock
  • The larger size and the shape of the Aerocone rain collector means a more accurate rain reading that the smaller Vantage Vue rain collector
  • Compliant with New Zealand’s Radio Communications Act and Regulations

This wireless sensor suite with standard radiation shield includes all the sensors you need-anemometer, rain collector, and temperature, humidity and solar irradiance-to measure solar energy potential or Evapotranspiration. Vantage Pro2 GroWeather ISS  Wireless.

Descripton

  • Measures wind speed and wind direction, rainfall, temperature and humidity
  • Calculates wet bulb, dew point, wind chill, heat index and Temp/Humidity/Wind (THW) index
  • Solar powered during the day with a super capacitor for nights and a lithium battery for backup
  • Built in bubble level for accurate installation
  • Rainfall measured in 0.2mm increments by the self-emptying tipping spoon mechanism
  • The AeroCone rain collector meets the World Meteorological Organisation’s collection area guideline
  • The AeroCone is designed to minimise the impact of driving wind on your rain readings. Includes a debris screen and spikes to deter birds
  • Wind sensor has been wind tunnel tested to 320km/h
  • The wind sensor has a 12m cable which allows you to mount the ISS lower where you can maintain it easily and still have your wind sensor up high
  • Radiation shield protects the temperature/humidity sensor from solar radiation and reflected heat
  • Transmits wirelessly up to 300m line of sight to your Davis receiver, such as the 6313 WeatherLink Console, 6100 WeatherLink Live, original Vantage console (discontinued), or 6803 or 6805 EnviroMonitor Gateways. A receiver is required and is not included here
  • Compliant with New Zealand’s Radio Communications Act and Regulations
  • Comes with a mounting kit (U-bolts etc) to mount your sensor suite to a pole, as well as a CR123 backup battery for the ISS transmitter and a 0.050″ Allen key for the wind sensors

All the features above PLUS:

    • 6450 Solar radiation sensor. Measures the intensity of solar irradiance, enabling display of incident power (Watts per square metre) and cumulative energy. Having this sensor fitted to your ISS allows your Davis system to calculate and display potential evapotranspiration (ET rates) and Temp/Humidity/Sun/Wind (THSW) index
    • 6673 Sensor mounting shelf to fit the solar sensor to your ISS (and space to retrofit a 6490 UV sensor). Anodized aluminium posts and stainless steel hardware

 Compatible with:

  • Cabled Vantage Pro2 Console
  • Cabled Envoy
  • Cabled Vantage Connect
  • EnviroMonitor

NOTE:  Mounting tripod not included.

Important:

The ISS consists of sensors and a transmitter and does not save your data. A Davis receiver is required and is not included.  When choosing a sensor suite variant, please be aware that the 24 hour FARS ( 24-hour Fan-Aspirated Radiation Shield)  unit cannot be retrofitted

Which radiation shield  suits your site: the Standard or 24 hour Fan-Aspirated Radiation Screen (FARS)?

The purpose of the FARS unit is to regulate the sensor readings and maximise the sensor accuracy by circulating the air in the radiation shield around the temperature/humidity sensor. However, for most locations in New Zealand, nature kindly assists with this, so a standard radiation shield is enough. A FARS unit on your sensor suite can be a great piece of kit for situations where there is little wind and the temperature reading is important, such as inside a shelter belt on an orchard where there is lots of sun and not much breeze for circulation.
